How To Measure for Chaps & Chinks
Wear your boots and jean while measuring. If possible use a cloth measuring tape....or use a piece of string around your body part, and then use your measuring ruler or tape to measure the string. The most important measurements are the "belt" and "length"
1- Belt: Measure exactly where you will be wearing your chaps. Specify if it above or below the belt on your jeans.
1 to 2 - Rise: Measure from the top of the "waist" to the center seam on your jeans. A typical short rise (chaps sitting below belt) is 6" to 7". A medium rise is 8" to 9". A long rise is 10" to 12" (chaps sit at actual waist) 3 - Upper Thigh Measure around the thickest part of your thigh with your leg slightly bent (as if in the saddle) 4 - Mid Thigh Take measurement from around thigh: about midway between upper thigh and knee (flex your thigh as if in the saddle) | 5 - Knee (Chaps Only) Measure around the flexed knee
6 - Calf (Chaps Only) Measure around calf 7 -Out seam (Chaps & Chinks) Measure from the top of your belt to the floor for chaps or to the finished length of chinks (including fringe) 8 - Inseam (Chaps & Chinks) Measure from crotch to the floor for chaps or to the finished length of chinks (including fringe) 9 - Belt to Knee (Chaps & Chinks) Measure from your belt to center of your knee 10 - (not shown) Measure from hip bone to hip bone from the front view If you have any doubts about your measurements, please give me a call and we can go over it together |
